WASPA Joins SA's Longest Running ICT Event

South Africa's Wireless Application Service Providers' Association (WASPA) joins South Africa's Internet Service Providers' Association (ISPA) for the first time as a partner in this year's iWeek XV taking place in Johannesburg during September 2016.

Other partners in the country's premier ICT industry gathering taking place in Johannesburg from 19 to 23 September include the Wireless Access Providers' Association (WAPA), the ZA Central Registry (ZACR), the ZA Domain Name Authority (ZADNA), INX-ZA and the South African chapters of the Internet Society.

WASPA's involvement this year is especially welcome as the self-regulating body for the country's mobile content and applications industry brings a full day of valuable content focused on the burgeoning mobile sector.

On Tuesday 20 September, WASPA sessions will cover mobile content and the South African mobile numbering plan. There is also a planned half-day workshop to provide a detailed overview of the local regulatory framework. Finally, ICASA's role as the industry regulator will be examined, followed by a high-level view of the legislation and regulations that shape the greater mobile industry. Attendance is free after registering on www.iweek.org.za.

Date: 19 August 2016 to 23 August 2016
Venue: Wanderers Club, Illovo, JHB, Johannesburg
Cost: Free after prior registration
