Small Business Expo

Thebe Reed Exhibitions in collaboration with the Eskom Development Foundation brings you the Small Business Expo which will feature a range of targeted discussions and dialogue sessions, capacity building sessions and activities aimed at facilitating relationship brokering between small business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, corporate leaders and other relevant players in the small business arena.

The Small Business Expo will facilitate the growth of small businesses in South Africa by connecting them with other small businesses, corporate leaders, hubs, incubators and investors, and will be running alongside the #BuyABusiness Expo. The #BuyABusiness Expo will connect entrepreneurs, operators and investors who are looking to grow, diversify or enter business partnerships with one of the many business and franchise opportunities to be showcased. These two business titles present the biggest platform in Africa that showcases industries, nurtures business, builds capacity and avails networking opportunities.

The Small Business Expo and the #BuyABusiness Expo are two platforms that are the evolution of more than 20 years of dedication to entrepreneurship through exhibitions. They are the result of Thebe Reed Exhibitions' keen observation of the marketplace and of the changes in the business landscape. They are a deliberate move towards building a dynamic engagement platform that enables entrepreneurs and businesses to broker strategic relationships that last, and impact their bottom-lines.

"We have an exciting line-up of capacity building sessions, knowledge sharing opportunities and high-level networking with pertinent stakeholders in the South African business landscape. The Small Business Expo is the ultimate platform for entrepreneurs and small businesses to take advantage of opportunities that will help them grow and nurture their entities." said Carol Weaving, MD at Thebe Reed Exhibitions.

Activities at the expo include a range of exciting targeted sessions that will facilitate engagement between small businesses, entrepreneurs, corporate leaders and investors. Before the expo, all exhibitors will go through training sessions where they will be coached on how to network effectively, with each other, with corporate leaders and with investors. Once equipped, the exhibitors will partake in the following, and other activities that are part of the line-up:

Match-making diary: pre-scheduled targeted and guaranteed meetings between entrepreneurs, small business owners, corporate leaders and investors. These meetings are arranged before the expo to ensure business is being conducted at the exhibition and return on investment can be measured after the show.

Investors Club: a community of investors who will engage small business owners exhibiting at the expo for business and collaboration opportunities.

Workshops and theatres: multiple theatres representing different focus areas for businesses at varying levels. The Entrepreneurial Bootcamp by Dear Businessman is geared towards motivating, imparting knowledge and giving practical skills to start-ups or entrepreneurs wanting to start a business. The Development Den hosted by Eskom will help more established small business by giving them tips and tools to grow and expand their establishments. Both of these workshop areas are free to the exhibitors and visitors to the show.

At the #BuyABusiness Expo, the Full on Franchising theatre by SA Franchise Warehouse is a full day programme focusing on Franchising 101.
