Brief description

We are seeking an experienced Tender Administrator to take full ownership of our tender process, from briefing through to submission and award. The successful candidate will manage compliance documentation, coordinate submissions across public and private sector portals, and support the broader administrative function of the business. This is an office-based position suited to a seasoned professional with a strong track record of independently compiled and submitted tenders.

Task

• Identify, compile, and submit tenders on public and private sector portals (eTender, National Treasury, municipal, mining, water, rail).

• Attend site briefings and translate briefing requirements into complete submission packs.

• Maintain the compliance master file (CIDB, BBBEE, Tax Clearance, Letters of Good Standing, COIDA) with a renewal calendar.

• Manage the tender register: opportunities, values, submission dates, outcomes, and lessons learned.

• Follow up systematically on every submitted tender until award is announced.

• Support office administration and liaise with the Office Administrator on document control.

Qualification and requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on tender administration experience in construction, civils, mining, or engineering services.
  • Demonstrable track record of independently compiling and submitting CIDB grade public sector tenders from briefing to award.
  • Working knowledge of eTender, National Treasury, municipal, and private sector tender portals.
  • Sound understanding of CIDB grading requirements, BBBEE compliance, SARS Tax Clearance, and Letters of Good Standing.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Professional written and verbal English, with the ability to produce polished tender responses and correspondence.
  • Matric essential; tertiary qualification in business administration or construction management advantageous.
Competencies

• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and review.

• Strong deadline management and the ability to work under pressure across multiple concurrent submissions.

• Well organised, methodical, and process-driven in approach.

• Confident and professional communicator, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the broader team.

• Discretion and integrity when handling confidential company and pricing information.
