STADIO higher education is inviting applications for the position of: Teaching practice administrator
PurposeThe teaching practice administrator will take responsibility for aspects of administrative support in the teaching practice department in the higher certificate in pre-school education, B. Ed foundation phase teaching and B. Ed intermediate phase teaching programmes as specified by the head of teaching practice unit, academic manager and TP managers.
Key responsibilitiesThis position requires the ability to provide logistical and administrative support for operational systems and procedures in the teaching practice office, including:
- Managing and tracking documentation for teaching practice for 500 students per semester, including placement forms, assessment forms, and student records.
- Coordinating logistics for school placements and ensuring timely communication with students, schools and assessors.
- Responding to teaching practice related queries from students and staff within the assigned programme and modality.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation is submitted according to institutional timelines.
- Supporting the academic manager in allocating and managing school-based assessors.
- Monitoring student progress and flagging concerns related to teaching practice completion.
- Assisting in collecting feedback from students and assessors during and post-placement.
- Ensuring compliance with programme-specific teaching practice requirements and institutional policies.
- Contributing to monthly campus-level reports by submitting accurate data and updates.
- Completing filing activities as part of the academic calendar cycle.
- Undertaking additional administrative duties or projects as allocated by the head of TP unit/academic manager/TP managers.
Skills and competencies- Ability to manage multiple administrative tasks and logistical processes efficiently and concurrently.
- Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- High level of accuracy in data entry, record-keeping and information management.
- Commitment to delivering quality service to students, partnership schools and stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Ability to take initiative in dealing with changing circumstances.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
Qualifications and experience- A post-matric qualification (diploma or degree), preferably in education, administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a higher educational environment.
- IT skills, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in managing student records and coordinating projects.
- Knowledge of the higher education sector.
- Knowledge of learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) and student information management systems (e.g. my STADIO)
