Solution Architect

We are looking for an experienced Solution Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and enterprise-grade technology solutions within a highly regulated financial services environment.

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years’ software development experience with at least 3 years leading development teams and driving solution architecture.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, enterprise integration, microservices, and API-led architectures.
• Proven delivery experience within Agile/scrum environments.
• Experience designing solutions in regulated industries, ideally banking or financial services.
• Strong understanding of security, compliance, governance, and risk management principles.
• Hands-on experience with technologies including:
• Java
• GoLang
• Angular
• SQL Server / PostgreSQL / Oracle / MySQL
• MongoDB / CosmosDB / DynamoDB
• Experience applying design patterns such as DDD, TDD, Repository, Factory, Mediator, and Command patterns.
• Practical experience with application modernisation, including legacy platforms, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

• Design secure, scalable, and resilient enterprise solutions.
• Align solution designs with enterprise architecture standards and target-state roadmaps.
• Support architecture governance, technical design reviews, and solution assurance processes.
• Guide delivery teams through technical planning, risk identification, and implementation.
• Integrate modern platforms with core banking and legacy systems using API-led and event-driven approaches.

• Kubernetes / Docker
• DevOps and CI/CD practices
• Event-driven architecture and messaging platforms

Reference number for this position is GZ61342 which is a contract position based in Sandton / Hybrid offering a cost to company salary of R1300k per annum negotiable on experience and ability.
