Construction Planning Consultant

N.O.V8 Consulting Limited is seeking an experienced Construction Planning Consultant. This role is critical to delivering excellence across our portfolio of major infrastructure projects, large-scale residential developments, and complex planning submissions.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will ensure the delivery of robust, logic-driven construction programmes that support successful planning applications and project execution on a variety of small to large building and infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for business development, technical excellence, and mentoring the next generation of planning specialists as N.O.V8 Consulting expands across the EMEA region through 2030.

This role offers the opportunity to join a growing consultancy at the forefront of integrated planning, programming, and sustainability advisory. You will either be seconded to a Major programme or influencing a variety of smaller local and international projects. English proficiency is essential, fluency in further languages (e.g. Afrikaans, Dutch, German, Spanish) is an advantage for supporting cross-regional engagement across African, European, UK, and Irish markets.

Requirements

About You

Essential

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related discipline
• 5+ years' experience in construction planning, or construction management
• Proven track record supporting major planning submissions and/or delivering programmes for complex infrastructure or Building projects
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project. Proficient in Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject
• Deep understanding of UK planning policy, CDM regulations, and construction delivery methodologies
• Experience with NEC3/NEC4 contracts and their application to programming and project delivery
• Demonstrated success in client-facing roles, including business development and relationship
• management
• People management skills with experience mentoring graduates
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and report-writing abilities
• Self-starter with strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities

Desirable

• Familiarity with Life Cycle Assessment software tools (One Click LCA, SimaPro, GaBi, EC3, or IES)
• Chartered status (MCIOB, MRICS, MICE, or equivalent)
• Direct involvement in HS2, major rail, highways, or nationally significant infrastructure projects
• Experience with estate regeneration, large-scale residential schemes, or mixed-use developments
• Familiarity with BIM coordination and 4D programme visualisation tools
• Experience working across international markets or supporting EMEA region projects
