New Business Assistant is responsible for supporting CBR Marketing’s new business growth by
generating qualified leads, conducting cold-calling activities, researching potential clients, and preparing the internal team for successful pitch engagements.
This role plays a critical part in
creating high-quality entry points for the New Business Lead and broader New Business Team by identifying opportunities, establishing initial contact with prospects, and gathering key business intelligence. The individual will help build and maintain a strong, accurate prospecting database that contributes directly to the new business pipeline.
Core responsibilities1. Lead generation and cold calling- Conduct cold calls to targeted businesses (B2B) to introduce CBR Marketing’s services and assess interest.
- Secure qualified leads for the New Business Lead and broader sales team.
- Gather initial needs, objectives, and relevant client context during calls to support meeting preparation.
- Engage prospects professionally and represent the CBR brand with confidence and integrity.
2. Research and database development- Build, maintain, and update a comprehensive new business prospect database.
- Research new potential clients, industries, decision-makers, and relevant business intelligence.
- Identify growth areas, trends, competitors, and market opportunities aligned to CBR service offerings.
- Ensure all data captured is accurate, detailed, and categorised appropriately for pipeline management.
3. Meeting coordination and internal handover- Set up qualified meetings for the New Business Lead and/or New Business Team.
- Provide detailed research packs, background information, and call notes to prepare the team for client interactions.
- Assist in briefing internal teams on client expectations, opportunities, and key insights identified during initial contact.
- Ensure seamless handover of all lead information into CRM or pipeline systems.
4. Collaboration and support- Work closely with the New Business Lead and New Business Development Manager to grow the sales pipeline.
- Support the conversion of introductions into active opportunities by ensuring timely follow-ups and clear communication.
- Uphold the values and integrity of the CBR Marketing Brand in all interactions.
- Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks related to new business operations when required.
Experience / skill requirementsExperience- Minimum 2 years B2B experience, preferably in a digital advertising, marketing, or media environment.
- Proven experience with cold calling, lead generation, or internal sales.
- Understanding of digital marketing services, digital products, and industry terminology.
- Experience building lead lists or working with CRM systems is advantageous.
Skills and competencies- Excellent verbal communication skills and telephone etiquette.
- Strong research and analytical abilities.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly build rapport with potential clients.
- Confidence to communicate value propositions and identify client needs.
