Dermatology for Primary Care PractitionersThis is an eight-week blended course for registered medical officers and nurses, covering the diagnosis, treatment and correct management of common skin conditions. It is offered in an effort to meet community driven demands for these dermatology services. Dates: 03 October - 25 November The programme consists of one week of face to face learning, combined with six weeks of online assignments and practical tasks, supported by online contact with lecturing staff. The course ends with a week of revision and assessment. A certificate will be awarded to successful candidates. Internet access via a computer/smart phone will be required for the distance learning component. Preference will be given to health practitioners working in primary care settings. It is expected that practitioners will return to their place of work during the six weeks off campus. The on-campus weeks of the course will be held at Ward G23 OPD H/LE32 New Groote Schuur Hospital and at Red Cross Hospital OPD First Floor Room S27.
