The Youth Speak Forum is a youth discussion platform that will be hosted by AIESEC in South Africa on 30 June 2016. The basis of this discourse is to reach a consensus of which Sustainable Development Goals and projects, should be implemented by the Youth Speak Projects.
As the third installment of the Youth Speak Movement, the Youth Speak Forum aims to hear all the youth voices on the Sustainable Development Goals and social issues that affect local communities. The core of the forum is to open a dialogue that will aid in creating projects as solutions to these local issues. The projects which will be implemented under Youth Speak Project that will be run by AIESEC in South at a national scale, whereby the youth can volunteer to make a difference within various communities. The social issues that will be under discussion are informed by the key findings from the Youth Speak Insights, which is the second phase that assess all the data collected from the Youth Speak Survey.
The Youth Speak Survey was an initiative by AIESEC International, launched on 9 October 2015 till 31 March 2016, It was the first installment of the Youth Speak Movement to gather information that would identify issues that are important to the youth. On a global scale the Youth Speak Survey received 160 000 responses. The South African leg of the survey contributed approximately 300 responses which was conducted by AIESEC in South Africa.
