Workplace habits and behaviours

Why are there so many different organisational systems and courses on being truly effective out there? The answer is simple: it's like any other challenge, like weight loss or money management. There is no simple, one size fits all answer. You must build a solution that works for you.

Your brain, thoughts, and behaviours are at the core of everything that you do every day, even if you aren't aware of it. In order to truly achieve the results that you want to achieve, you must master the art of bringing your unconscious thoughts to the surface, so that you can have real choice over how you interact and respond.

Product and service excellence are no longer sufficient - the harnessing and application of knowledge and information is key to sustained performance. Over the course of this three-day workshop, we will explore various performance increasing tools and techniques.

What will be covered in this course
About the organisation
-Delegates will explore Peter Senge's vision of the organisation. Is your company one where all employees are committed to lifelong learning? How can it encourage continual growth and development?

Achieving personal mastery
-Delegates will identify some strategies for understanding what their own strengths are, as well as where they want to go.

Self growth
Here we teach the aspects of applying self growth:
-Mentally, physically, socially, spiritually
-Analysing our mental models
Often, we create our own realities without even realizing that we do so. This session will give delegates some ways to explore and change their own mental models.

Achieving a shared vision
-This session will give delegates some ideas for building commitment within a team using shared vision. Delegates will also explore a model that will help them move their team to greater independence.

The habits and behaviours of highly effective people
Dr. Stephen Covey is a hugely influential management guru, whose book The Seven
Habits of Highly Effective People
, became a blueprint for personal development when it was published in 1990. The Seven Habits are said by some to be easy to understand but
not as easy to apply. We will explore ways to apply these and many more habits and behaviours in a work context.

Motivation
-Human beings are pre-wired to be motivated. Something gets us up every morning - if it's the need for a morning coffee or the need to eat something. We are motivated to satisfy those needs. So motivation is what brings people to work every day even if it is just to get a paycheck. But if you want to build a great and productive work environment, you need people who are motivated to achieve more than their basic needs.

Communication
-In this session focus will be put on win-win communication and resolving conflict in a workforce structure. We will also focus on day to day gossiping and the long term effects it has on the individual's career.

Diversity and team work
-In this session we will assist you with relationship building and forming synergies with people within a team, business unit and ultimately the organisation. This session will also focus on relationship building with direct supervisors and managers to achieve greatness within a department. Understanding they why's and how's of each person. This session is a team building exercise.

Proactive behaviour
-Proactive behaviour can be contrasted with other work-related behaviours, such as proficiency, i.e. the fulfilment of predictable requirements of one's job, or adaptivity, the successful coping with and support of change initiated by others in the organisation. In regard to the latter, whereas adaptivity is about responding to change, proactivity is about initiating change. Proactivity is not restricted to extra-role performance behaviours.

Setting SMART goals
-Research has consistently demonstrated that when clear goals are set with the end in mind, it occurs more easily and rapidly. With that in mind we will renew and review the goals of each delegate and apply some time constraints to these goals.

Developing a strategy that works for you
-Lastly, we will develop a strategy that works for you and monitor your application of this strategy back in the workplace.
