Law@work, UCT Faculty of Law, is pleased to offer a one-day seminar on recent amendments to the National Credit Act - 30 May 2016.
About the seminar
The National Credit Act (NCA) has gone through some major changes recently, primarily related to the test used by credit providers to assess consumer's ability to afford credit, but also in terms of interest rate ceilings, mandatory training requirements, amended debt collection proceedings, disputes regarding to prescription of debts and so on.
Our one-day seminar aims to bring you up to speed with the amendments to the NCA, changes in interest rates and recent National Credit Tribunal cases, and provides a useful comparison between the past position and the current position.
Who should attend this seminar?
The course is primarily aimed at information officers, in-house legal advisors, compliance officers and attorneys who have some background knowledge of the National Credit Act.
What can you expect?
By the end of the seminar you will:
Know what has changed since the NCA came into force in 2007
Be familiar with the contentious areas and the arguments from both sides
Have a useful handout setting out the recent amendments and changes
Course presenters
