Delivering an impactful message and harnessing PowerPoint effectively is vital to you and your company! Be your presentation!
At a time when companies place a premium on teamwork and interpersonal skills, how you view events that affect you and communicate your needs and desires can profoundly influence your effectiveness at work.
To put it simply, workplace success is largely about what you say and how you say it. But any modern employees lack superior communication skills. They speak in ways that sometimes alienate, obscure or offend co-workers, subordinates and customers and fall far short of achieving the desired result. To be perceived as a contributor, you must be able to achieve your goals at work without antagonising others.
In response to this fact, AO Development has developed its Assertive Presentation skills and PowerPoint programme, aimed at equipping employees at all levels with the knowledge, skills and required behaviours to harness the characteristics of any presentation in a work context.
The programme will equip your employees with the following information and abilities:
- Creating a context for the concept, types and elements of Assertive Presentations, including benefits and barriers to Assertive Presentation.
- Distinguish between Assertive, Aggressive and Passive communication styles, and practical examples of the application thereof in communication.
- Managing different personality types during presentations
- Understand the personal characteristics that make us effective communicators and presenters.
- Developing your Advanced Presentation capabilities in a work context, including situational applications thereof.
- Assertive Presentation techniques, including message, voice, body language ,effective listening skills, content and visual aids structuring.
- The use of gestures and movement.
- Management of nervous tension.
- Managing a difficult audience such as whisperers and hecklers.
- Giving and receiving feedback, managing requests and complaints, managing angry people and role-play samples of each.
- The appropriate use of humour.
- Preparation (AO Development uses the mind mapping concept to help you gather your thoughts), practice and the delivery of your presentation.
- The ability to present in all areas such as training rooms, board rooms and individual one on one whether the candidate is presenting to one person or a thousand people.
- Included in the programme is a module on the use of PowerPoint in effective presentations.
- Time is spent evaluating the application of the programme outcomes in presentations.
