Pinot Noir festival
The Vineyard Hotel has confirmed that their annual Pinot Noir Festival will take place on Sunday, 10 April. Forming part of the Vineyard Hotel's annual 'Tastes' calendar, which is an eight month celebration of wine-paired dinners, the hotel has a special festival planned for eager Pinot Noir aficionados.
The festival is a favourite on the Tastes calendar and sees some of the best South African Pinot Noir producers take to the Vineyard hotel's famous lawns to celebrate the virtues of this sought after grape.
Originating in the Burgundy region of France, Pinot Noir wine is considered by some to be the best red wine there is. Typically showing red fruit in the form of cranberry, cherry and raspberry, other frequent aromas include vanilla, tobacco and caramel.
Guests are invited to sample this multi-faceted varietal, accompanied by live music, canapés, blankets and umbrellas scattered on the grass, the Pinot Noir Festival will take place from 14.00-17.00.
The cost to attend is R215 per person and guests are encouraged to book early.
To make a full weekend out of it, guests are also invited to enjoy an Elgin Valley Celebration Dinner with Elgin Valley on Saturday 9 April. This will be an intimate dinner held in the Binnehof for R545 per person and will feature estates from the Elgin area. Book early as places are limited.

Should guests wish to stay over and make the most of the experience without having to worry about driving home, the hotel will be running an accommodation special. Book a single room for R1,195 and the double for R1,590 - rates are inclusive of breakfast only.
A note on Tastes of 2016 :
'Tastes of 2016' is the 10th annual celebration of fine cuisine and exceptional wines held at the Vineyard Hotel. This year the theme is 'knowledge sharing' with a number of Vineyard staff members 'swapping' with those from featured estates in order to learn and experience how things are done elsewhere, before bringing this knowledge back with them. These bi-monthly meals will see a different wine selection and menu at each event.
