Law@work, UCT Faculty of Law, is pleased to present a 10-day preparation course for the International CFE examination on behalf of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners - SA Chapter.
About the course:
The Certified Fraud Examiners (CFE) International is a globally preferred credential, necessary to advance your career as an expert in the fraud examiners profession. A unique qualification, the exam being registered as a NQF level 7 qualification with SAQA and enjoying local and international recognition. A CFE can work globally, since fraud professionals worldwide have in common core knowledge, skills and experience requirements. Presented in conjunction with the Risk and Investigation Training Academy (RITA), an ACFE- approved training provider.
Who will benefit from this course?
Anyone writing the International CFE exam, external, internal and forensic auditors, fraud examiners and specialised investigators in income tax, customs and excise, members of SAPS, National Prosecuting Authority and financial services industry, financial managers and risk managers.
Course outline:
This course aims to provide delegates with material in accordance with international agreed minimum standards for fraud/forensic investigators and auditors in SA, equal to international standards. The CFE qualification will equip forensic practitioners with the skills to carry out fraud examinations efficiently, effectively and ethically - to reduce business fraud and to inspire public confidence in the integrity and objectivity of fraud examiners at work.
Course presenter:
Adv. Ansie de Jager is a certified fraud examiner with more than 18 years' experience in detection and investigation of fraud and white collar crimes. She is a practicing attorney, has experience as head of internal audit, and legal advisor, in claims, litigation and compliance management. She provides regular paralegal training and is a registered moderator and assessor.
Registration details
Entry requirements:
A three-year degree with two years' experience in fraud prevention and deterrence; or 10 years' experience in fraud prevention and deterrence (no degree or other qualifications); or combination of certificates, diplomas and experience with/without a degree and less than 10 years' experience. Please supply documentary proof that you meet one of these requirements.
Award of certificate:
UCT certificate of attendance will be awarded to everyone who attends the contact session. Once you have successfully completed the exam, send your details to the SA branch of the ACFE to obtain the SAQA NQF 7 certificate.
Course fee:
R25,000 per delegate, which includes:
- Registration for associate membership with ACFE International chapter (requirement for writing the exam)
- Registration for examination
- Electronic and hard copy of ACFE manual
- Exam facilitation during/after contact session
- Lunches, teas, parking
Delegates will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs.
