Esiqhelini Annual Cultural Event

First Esiqelini Cultural Festival to Shine Spotlight on the Hidden History of Kwa Ndebele.

Esiqelini Cultural Event is set to share the rich history and culture of the Ndebele people of Mpumalanga. As the African Renaissance is about the re-birth of the continent of Africa, this re-birth manifests itself in ways that are born out of a desire by Africa and its people to claim their stake in the affairs of global mankind. And it is with this that Siyabuswa in Mpumalanga will be celebrating their rich heritage with the first Esiqelini Cultural Event on 5 December.

Taking place at Kagiso Water Park, the event serves to reconnect and promote relationships among the people of Siyabuswa, appreciate cultural heritage and celebrate the rich values of the Ndebele people such as dance, music, architecture, fashion and indigenous knowledge that lies in Siyabuswa (Mpumalanga).

The event invites audiences to come experience and expand their knowledge of Ndebele art and culture through the enjoyment of music, art, food and a variety of showcases on the day-long programme. This features performances from local artists such as Vusi Namasehla, the Saaiplas Boys, Ubuhlebethu Group, Sonkingana Namawelana, DJ's Lulo Cafe, Lerato Kganyago, Bob Ezy, Thabi Thabs and more.
