Women's Month has come and gone, but the issue of gender has, if anything, been once again rekindled. This is especially as the deadline for the 2015 Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is also drawing near. For many, the question foremost on their mind is: to what extent the gender mainstreaming agenda has advanced, at what cost and to whom? For others, however, the whole issue is a boggling and yet uncomplicated none issue.
In light of the above, two Johannesburg-based consultancies, SRN Business Consulting and Comecinc Communications and Strategic Solutions Services have organised an exciting two-day 'no holds barred' seminar that seeks to revisit, explore and review the gender mainstreaming agenda from yesterday to the present day. The seminar shall among its objectives, trace the issue of gender mainstreaming from its inception to the present by examining, its origins, representations and impact via the sharing of evidence based research, lived experiences and best practice recommendations.
