Community Leadership Awards

The objective of community leadership awards is to identify and celebrate the leadership and humanitarian initiatives brought in the spirit of 'creating a better world for all who live in it'.
Encouraging various acts of good deeds, the philanthropic day was started in 2008 in Hyde Park, London where Madiba urged the future generation to assist to change the world. Eastwave Radio 92.2FM, a community radio station broadcasting in greater Johannesburg heeded this call and established the annual Nelson Mandela International Day Community Leadership Awards in 2012. The event saw a huge interest from community members nominating their local unsung heroes.

The event features prominent leaders like Gauteng Premiere David Makhura sharing leadership skills with young leaders. If you know of individuals, organisations or businesses that are rolling up their sleeves and making a difference, you can nominate them by downloading a form from www.eastwavefm.co.za or request by email ten.asmoklet@mfevawtsae. Nominees will be honoured at the awards ceremony on 25 July 2015, Baitun Noor Centre, Ext.5, Lenasia at 3pm.
