World Social Sciences Forum 2015
The WSSF2015 promotes innovative and cross-disciplinary work, cross-science collaborations in the natural and human sciences, and engagement with donors and decision makers in the science community.
The World Social Sciences Forum (WSSF2015) is a global event of the International Social Sciences Council (ISSC) that brings together an international audience to address current topical global issues and future priorities for international social science. The theme of the third WSSF 2015 is "Transforming Global Relations for a Just World". The forum promotes innovative and cross-disciplinary work, cross-science collaborations in the natural and human sciences, and engagement with donors and decision makers in the science community worldwide. In organising the World Social Science Forum 2015, The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) and the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) will be joined by a consortium of universities and research centres from across the African continent.
A broad range of topics that will be addressed by WSSF2015 are open to interdisciplinary and comparative interrogation. These topics include amongst others - global inequalities as it relates to governance, patterns of production and consumption, cultural exchanges, quality health and education, and human rights and social justice. The action oriented nature of the theme will allow the forum to demonstrate the relevance of social science for public policies and social intervention.
WSSF2015 is expected to attract ±1,500 delegates from across the globe. Registered participants to date already represent 67 countries. The forum will also host an exhibition and oral poster program. The Forum will host a global village that provides a space for displays, discussions and performances from throughout the world.
