This course aims to assist managers with the planning and execution of performance agreements for the organisation as a key aim of the performance management process is to develop the team to assist the organisation in achieving its objectives. Key areas to be covered are cascading the corporate plan to divisional plans and ensuring the KPIs are SMART, assisting with Divisional Plans and the balance scorecards for Heads of the divisions, assist with individual Key Performance Areas and ensuring they are SMART and the roles of the moderating committee.

1. Cascading the corporate plan to divisional plans and make sure the KPIs are SMART
Unpacking and realising the scope of business plan management

Establishment of divisional objectives and targets from corporate objectives (the process)
The process of cascading the objectives
Applying the SMART principle and test
A practical assignment to apply knowledge gained in practical manner
2. Assisting with divisional plans and the balance scorecards for heads of the divisions
Breaking down of objectives and goals
Basic formats/structure of KPI's/targets and balance score card documentation
The review and PDCA cycle
Structure division 'target statement' - and level one performance indicatives
Divisional KPI visual management
3. Assist with individual key performance areas and make sure they are SMART
The building of KPA sheets (workshop style)
Review cross functionally by presenting the drafts
Apply the SMART test
The improvements after cross functional feedback
4. The roles of the moderating committee
The need to cross reference divisional dependencies
Key roles and functions of moderating committee
Continuous improvement and KPI contingency rules
