The collection, use and processing of personal information is part and parcel of most businesses for one reason or another. The Protection Of Personal Information Act has been signed into law and all companies will have one year from the commencement of the Act to ensure that they comply. The Act places many new obligations on businesses and non-compliant businesses may be faced with fines of up to R10 million. It is therefore necessary for businesses to ensure that they and/or their staff understand the implications of this legislation.
This seminar is aimed at explaining in uncomplicated terms, the scope and content of the Act and giving practical guidelines on how to ensure that businesses' are compliant.
