FFF junior coal mining ventures workshop
The purpose of this workshop is to provide a platform for the community and its supporters to turn the talk shops into action and to find solutions to the issues faced by this sector.
South Africa is currently under considerable stress to maintain the required electricity supply to industry. Eskom's current coal supply strategy is to increase of coal supplied to Eskom power stations by emerging BBBEE coal miners. Municipal, independent power producers (IPPs) and industrial heat and power producers also require sustainable coal supplies for their generating units. The potential to generate multiple products from such coal mines, some for export to the global market and others for local requirements, provides further economic incentives for this emerging sector.
