ISO50001 Energy Management and Auditing

The current strain on the Eskom grid and talk of tariff changes which if implemented will
see heavy energy consumers paying more during peak periods make it imperative for
companies to critically examine their energy usage. The Industrial Energy Management
workshop is designed to address key energy issues in the building and industrial sectors.
The workshop is intended foremost at engineering professionals or anyone within an
organisation interested or responsible for energy management. Delegates will be able to
discuss technical and legal issues involved in tracking and managing energy usage within
organisations with the ultimate aim of enhancing organisational competitiveness.

Facilitated by the Industries expert Koos Bouwer

Please note: Attendees will be able to claim two CPD points upon attendance.

Why energy management ?
In the past, most organisations have approached energy management by implementing ad hoc energy efficiency projects. These are important and useful steps, but they do not provide sustainable energy reductions or integrated energy management. The answer is to adopt a continuous-improvement approach to energy management. With this approach, energy management moves beyond and becomes an integrated part of the company's business practice, just like other corporate programs such as safety programs, supply chain management and financial controls. It involves regularly assessing your energy management performance so that you can develop action plans to guide improvement and monitor your progress. By adopting a continuous-improvement approach, you can achieve significant and sustainable savings in energy use and cost. BizStrat's Masterclass will equip delegates to be energy experts who can delve into how you use energy and trim costs.

Why audit energy ?
Find out where your energy is currently going ,which systems present the best opportunities to save energy.

What is ISO 50001?
ISO 50001 is standard was devised by experts to help the world's industrial facilities, public institutions, government departments and all manner of public and private organisations respond to climate change by practicing greater energy efficiency. Benefits of adopting the ISO 50001 standard go beyond a global reduction in greenhouse gases - it provides a clear, logical framework to help organisations design and use their facilities more efficiently. And of course greater energy efficiency means lower operational costs. ISO 50001 is meant to work either by itself or hand-in-glove with other international standards.

Deadline for registration is 1 May 2015. Book now, don't be cut off by sold out.
