Transport Ticketing Africa will, for the first time bring together leading public transport operators and local authorities from more than 15 countries across the continent, uniting them with transport technology experts from around the globe. At this new smart travel event, industry leaders and specialists will explore the developments in smart ticketing and transport that will shape Africa's future in passenger travel.
The industry's hotly debated topics will be discussed including; 'building the business case for smart ticketing - which ticketing route is best suited to your passengers' needs?, can we afford smart cards or can we afford to be without them?', 'what information does the passenger need to know and when?', 'opening public transport for anonymous passengers', 'understanding the routes to mobile ticketing' and integrating contactless bank card ticketing into your transit system'.
Among the organisations taking part are eThekwini Transport Authority (ETA) and Integrated Rapid Public Transport Network (IRPTN), Kenya Bus Management Services, Transport for Cape Town and Transport for London while partners and sponsors include OSPT Alliance, Calypso Networks Association, Vix Technology, Parkeon and Thales.
The event also offers a perfect opportunity to network and there will also be an extensive exhibition with international companies offering the latest solutions.
The event is co-located with the industry renowned Mobile Money and Digital Payments Africa, now in its seventh year. It has been organised by the creators of Transport Ticketing and Passenger Information Global, held in London in January.
