The GRI Africa Regional Conference which will be held 12-13 May 2015.
Africa is emerging as an exciting area for investment by domestic and global businesses. Given its comparatively high levels of GDP growth, the rapid rise of an increasingly urbanised African middle-class, and the scale of investor-friendly policy reforms across the continent, the region presents valuable opportunities for business investment and growth. Despite these opportunities, there remain significant social, economic and environmental challenges throughout the region that present substantial risks, both to business investment and to the longer-term well being of the continent and its people.
The GRI Africa Regional Conference will convene up to 250 sustainability leaders and practitioners from across Africa and the globe. It provides a platform to share ideas and practical experiences with the overall aim to ensure that corporate accountability and reporting creates and delivers value to all stakeholders.
12 May is reserved for half-day master classes on the following topics: Supply chain/value chain reporting (ESS), Beyond the report: maximising value from the reporting (ERM), Materiality, integration and the boundaries of accountability (BSD Consulting International) and Stakeholder engagement (EY South Africa).
On 13 May GRI offers an exciting program with renowned speakers in plenary sessions and parallel tracks on driving economic transformation in Africa through greater transparency, innovations in reporting and reporting as facilitator for trade, investment and development.
