Cluver Markotter - Horizon House Golf Day

Horizon House invites you to be part of our golf day on 26 March 2015 at the Stellenbosch Golf Course, either as a player or sponsor, and in doing so, make a positive difference in the lives of people living with a primary intellectual disability. The centre provides accommodation and protected work opportunities to adults who are primarily intellectually disabled and who cannot function independently.

We are fortunate to once again have Cluver Markotter Inc. on board as our main sponsor. It is a privilege to be associated with one of the old and established businesses of Stellenbosch. The 2015 golf day offers tee-off from 8am - 9am and from 12am - 2pm

There are many ways to get involved in this event, either by entering a four-ball, sponsoring of prizes or a wet/marketing hole. The players are local businessmen, wine farmers as well as friends and family of our residents.

Background:

Horizon House is a residential and protective work centre for adults who live with intellectual disability, situated in Stellenbosch. For the past 40 years the centre has grown from the initial 16 residents to a home of 98 adults and 35 day visitors who join them for work every day. We render a holistic and client-focused service.

At Horizon House a balanced programme is at the core of what we offer the residents and day visitors. There are nine work areas where the residents and day workers work and receive training. Horizon House also accommodates people with intellectual disabilities from Kayamandi and other previously disadvantaged areas in and around Stellenbosch.

The centre is a non-profit company and is responsible for generating its own funds. Contributions to Horizon House are fully tax-deductible. Horizon House's B-BBEE-status is currently "Level four contributor".

20% of the residents from Horizon House do not have families who can support them financially and otherwise. Our fundraising projects are aimed at raising funds for them.
