Maker Library Anniversary showcase and workshops

To celebrate its first year of activity, the Maker Library Network (MLN) is hosting a showcase at 75 Harrington Street from Friday, 27 February to Sunday, 1 March to tell the story of this exciting project so far.

There will also be free workshops in the Maker Library Maker Space, giving visitors the opportunity to connect with designers from the UK and South Africa. Some of the themes covered during the workshops include making wearable tech, and screen printing stencils and there is even a kids' carpentry workshop.
Activating the three key principals of Make, Show, Read, it will feature a collection of work that has been made by members of the Network, objects that have been displayed in their galleries and examples of books that have inspired the Maker Librarians.

Launched in South Africa in 2014, The Maker Library Network is a British Council Connect ZA initiative designed to foster creativity and collaboration between makers and designers across both countries through creating a space for reading, showcasing and making. Through this unique network, makers and designers can share resources, swap skills, take part in mentoring sessions and exchange ideas.

Entry is free.
