Woman zone storysharingJoin us as we share our stories at the Woman Zone story-sharing event at Mogalakwena Gallery in Church Street as part of 'First-Thursday night in the City The 'First-Thursdays' of each month have become a time to explore the City Centre late into the evening when art galleries, shops, restaurants and coffee shops open their doors for a city walkabout. Add to this a Storysharing event on Thursday 5 February when Woman Zone partners with Mogalakwena Art and Craft Gallery in Church Street and you know something new and exciting is evolving. The gallery will be opening a new group exhibition of textile art themed "Sewing a history of healing" at 6pm and around 6.30pm Woman Zone will be launching their new women's Storysharing sessions, echoing the theme of healing. This first event will kick off Woman Zone's monthly series of open mic Storysharing at the gallery in which guests will be invited to share their stories informally in a creative environment. The Storysharing follows the successful 13 Women Storytelling series presented last year, which will shortly appear in book form as "Being a woman in Cape Town: Telling your story". The purpose is to stimulate women from all communities to meet, share and listen to one another. Woman Zone invites you to join them on this 'First-Thursday' of February for the launch of this new initiative and diarise each month for regular Storysharing. Time: 18:30 - 20:00 Venue: Mogalakwena, 3 Church Street, Cape Town Cost: Free |
