Namibia's biggest vocational education and training exhibition.
A first of its kind in Namibia, the Skills Expo will become an annual platform where industry role players and reputable training institutions can collaborate in informing young Namibians about technical and vocational career options open to them.
Taking place at the Ramatex Complex in Windhoek from the 25 - 27 February 2015, the event is a result of a partnership between the Namibia Training Authority (NTA) and Namibia Careers Expo.
Event objectives
Bringing together on a shared platform, public and private registered training providers, corporate entities and other industry stakeholders to partner the NTA in the promotion of technical and vocational careers;
Promote a culture of skills excellence in Namibia
Countering negative societal perceptions and stereotypes stigmatizing technical and vocational training as "last choice education", and which stereotypes technical and vocational practitioners as inferior;
Supporting equal opportunities and social inclusion by raising the aspirations of disadvantaged groups in gaining access to career opportunities that might otherwise have been denied to them.
Emphasise and promote trade practice simulation activities and actual on-site technical trade demonstrations.
