The focus of the workshop is on industrial use and effluent treatment- introducing the drivers for and principles behind waste water treatment, treatment technologies, the processes involved and stages of implementation; and the challenges associated with efficient application and management of these systems. The workshop will speak to both the practical and economic realities of effluent management for industries and mines, and will provide delegates with a thorough understanding of the full waste water treatment cycle- from implementation of waste water management plans through to maintenance and plant operation. Given the current water scarcity concerns in South Africa, the workshop will provide valuable insight into the opportunities that effective effluent treatment may afford industries as well as the benefits that improved operational efficiency has for the future sustainability of our water resources.
