Effective presentation skills
The workshop is for public relations practitioners and communication management professionals who need to add impact and confidence to their presentations.
Participants will be given sound guidelines on each aspect of good presentations from the preparation and research phases through the structuring of effective presentations and finally the delivery of the presentation. These will include the use of body language, voice control, managing questions and the preparation of visual aids.
The course is intensely practical. Delegates will have the opportunity to do between two to three presentations and receive detailed feedback after each. Particular emphasis is placed on developing the delegate's ability to apply the knowledge and to practice and hone the newly acquired skills as the workshop unfolds.
Delegates will do unprepared interviews to set a benchmark as the opening. Simulated situations will be conducted to enable the facilitator to give constructive feedback are given after the role-play to further learning.
The principles of being an effective presenter will be explored.
Delegates will get tips on how to formulate message for impact.
Video clips will be played of presentations to demonstrate successful interactive presentations and will also highlight potential pitfalls.

* Planning and preparing the structure to communicate the central message of the presentation logically.
* Planning visuals and other devices to involve the audience during the presentation.
* Preparing supporting material suitable for the presentation.
* Identifying and analysing the environment for the presentation.
* Identifying and choosing the kind of presentation fit for the purpose.
The programme is concluded with a practical workplace based assignment.
