Christmas market weekend at Slow MarketChristmas weekend market at Stellenbosch Slow Market is ideal shopping destination for festive season. Those looking forward to the festive season and all that it provides should not miss the annual Christmas Weekend Market at the popular Stellenbosch Slow Market the last weekend of November where Christmas trimmings, Christmas lights, lanterns and slowflake orgami will pave the way for the ideal Christmas shopping experience. Bakes, cakes, gammon, chicken, mince pies, nuts, sparkling wine, topiaries, boutiques of ladies' designer goods and other one of a kind gifts are just some of the fine foods, décor items and unique gifts available at the event, with music provided by Ike Moriz, brother-in-law of SA's iconic Nataniël, at selected times. For the duration of the Christmas Market, the Slow Market will team up with Public Benefit Organisation FORCE4GOOD (www.force4good.co.za), which will allow those attending to write their very own Christmas wish on a Christmas card - these cards will be displayed on a festive season tree (at a cost of R10 benefiting the organisation). Harck & Heart, known for their delicious German gingerbread biscuits created from a secret family recipe, will also invite young children to help them decorate a special Christmas baked house on Saturday (29 November), with one lucky young winner taking Santa's Christmas House back home with him or her. The stars will also be aligned in celebration of the festivities when astronomy experts of the University of Stellenbosch will be providing opportunities to explore the universe and full moon on the Friday evening with world-class telescopes and equipment, offering visitors a once in a lifetime viewing experience (as well as answering questions about the galaxies far, far away). The Christmas Weekend Market will conveniently be open on Friday, 28 November (5pm to 10pm), Saturday, 29 November 9am to 2pm) and Sunday, 30 November (10am to 3pm). All this, plus many more culinary delights and surprises at the market will be on offer. There is no entry fee for the Stellenbosch Slow Market and parking is freely available.
