Robertson Wine on the River returnsThe Robertson Wine on the River festival is returning to the banks of the Breede River, Western Cape, during the weekend of 16 - 18 October, 2009. ![]() Once again, the festival is taking place in a spacious marquee at the charming riverside farm, Goudmyn, situated on the R317 between Robertson and Bonnievale. Designated parking areas, at Spes Bona and Goudmyn, are clearly signposted en route. Here, festival-goers can park and a shuttle-service then provides transport to the festivities. Over 300 winesYou can taste more than 300 wines from over 40 wineries, while slistening to live jazz, ballads and blues. Other activities include: browsing amongst the country food stalls, lazy lunching at the riverside restaurant, and shopping your way through the Robertson Farmers' Market. A variety of tutored tastings - chardonnay, cheese, chocolate, olives and olive oil - to suit all palates will be on offer as well, as other popular attractions like: river cruises as well as arts and crafts from the valley. Offering a wide variety of children's activities, this year, children under 18 enter free of charge.After free admission, children's activities will be charged on a pay-as-you-go system.
