Ice Slide Wonderland at Canal Walk

Thrills in store on Africa's longest ice slide. The festive season is a time for laughter and family fun, and there is no better place than the Ice Slide Wonderland at Canal Walk to end 2014 on a high note.
From December 5 to January 11, from 10am to 10pm, the Centre Court at Canal Walk will be transformed into an icy playground for everyone from tiny tots to daring thrill-seekers.

"This year we wanted to provide a really memorable experience for the adults and older teens as well," says Vanessa Herbst, Marketing Manager at Canal Walk Shopping Centre. "We're not talking about a tame slide," she says. "This 80m long slide will take the riders up, down and around the circumference of the Centre Court, and through some fun tunnels."

There will also be a chilled 15m ice ride for younger kids and a 10m ride for the littlest thrill seekers.There's snow fun too, with a special snow play area for all to come and enjoy the snow fun.

Tickets for the Ice Slide Wonderland are available at Computicket online or at the Computicket booth located at the event.Liqui Fruit will also be on hand to refresh all the thrill seekers at the event. Stand a chance to win a R10,000 Canal Walk gift card when you purchase from the Liqui Fruit pop-up shop. Everyone has fond festive season memories of having their picture taken with Santa, and this year is no different. Santa will be found on his sleigh alongside the Ice Slide Wonderland ready to hear all the items on every child's Christmas present wishlist. The Canal Walk Express train will also be in operation on the upper level. At just R10 a ticket from the train staff, a train ride is an affordable treat.

Christmas is a time for giving, so why not give a little extra this year? If you take advantage of the gift wrapping service at the Pick n Pay and Checkers Courts, the small fee for each exquisite parcel goes straight back to the community, thanks to the charitable Hyprop Foundation where the funds raised will be donated to Reach for a Dream. The wrapping service will be available daily from December 12 - 23, from 10am to 10pm. For those last minute shoppers, the final parcel will be wrapped at 9pm on Christmas Eve.
