Craft Beer Fest at Stellenbosch Slow Market

The highly popular Stellenbosch Slow Market will be showcasing the best of local craft brews on Saturday, 18 October 2014 - featuring a variety of unique, on-your-doorstep craft beer producers, the market will show off the best the Cape has to offer.

It is a Craft Beer Fest in real slow food style and all are invited to join in the festivities.

Those who appreciate fine beer can expect award-winning quality lager, Stellenbrau. This craft beer competed against breweries from 43 other countries at the 2014 Global Craft Beer competition in Germany, coming away with top honours when it was awarded gold for its Craven Craft Lager.

Other strong contenders sure to win over new fans at the Craft Beer Fest includes Jack Black's Beer (with a focus on flavour and with a philosophy to innovate while staying true to traditional, hand-crafted methods), Darling Brew (guaranteed to complement any meal, occasion, party or even weather condition) and Triggerfish Brewing (which also boasts with a variety of impressive awards for their ales).

"Die Biervrou" will also be in attendance, representing a range of the finest beers which she sells on behalf of a variety of micro breweries, while Wild Clover Brewery strive to produce quality European-style beers from England, Ireland, Germany and Belgium - naturally perfecting it to the South African palate and taste.

The most delightful German-inspired culinary delights will also be on offer with authentic German cakes and artisanal bakes from Arnim von Werne, smoked trout sandwiches from Harty's Trout, and sausages of all types from Ollie's Sausages. Another guaranteed highlight will be the German Stand, where visitors will be able to purchase bratwurst, bokwurst, currywurst, leberkase, Eagle beer and much more.

The slow, crafty festival atmosphere of the day will further be enhanced with entertainment provided by DJ Simon Blundell, known as "The Vinyl Junkie", who will delight all with music selections from his over 3,000 vinyls collection, which will also be on sale (including rare collector's items of all genres of music).

All this, plus the usual weekly culinary delights and local market treasures will be on offer.
