Kouga Heritage Festival takes place in Humansdorp from Friday, September 26 until Sunday, September 28
A three-day heritage festival is being hosted by the Kouga Municipality and the department of sports, recreation, arts and culture in September 2014.
The celebrations start on Friday, September 26 and will end on Sunday, September 28.
A heritage colloquium, open to the public, will take place in the Kouga Cultural Centre in Humansdorp on Friday.
The colloquium will include talks and demonstrations on the cultural history, diversity, conservation and preservation of the region.
The mix of talk and demonstrations will all focus on highlighting the rich heritage of the Kouga region, its crafts, plants, food, music and dance.
Saturday and Sunday will bring stick fighting demonstrations, traditional food can be savoured, and there will be a fashion show and cultural performances in the "Best of the Best Kouga Heritage Concert" style.
The venue for the Kouga Heritage Festival is the Kouga Cultural Centre in Humansdorp, which is on the corner of Voortrekker road and Heugh roads.
Entrance is free.
