Theatre Night In Alexandra Township.
Spoiled with artistic talent, Alexandra will come to life with three days arts festival loosely named Theatre Night in Alexandra. Crème de la Crème of the arts will gather in Alex to celebrate 20 years of democracy in an artistic fiesta led by different generations of artistic talent that was born and bred in this famous township. A potpourri of artistic forms has been line -up, music, drama, comedy, poetry, hip hop, visual exhibition and fashion to celebrate humanity and democracy in style. Leading this esteemed assemblage of good performers will be none other than the music maestro Caiphus Semenya and the master of words Dr. Wally Mongane Serote who will represent the older generation of Dark City , known and celebrated younger artists and performers will also make their presence felt this include Mduduzi " Suffocate" Mabaso , Mpho Malatsi, Israel Makoe and Nobuhle Mahlasela
Theatre Night 2014 will open on the 5 of September Friday night which is set to be on a red carpet atmosphere starting off with live band entertainment by Neo Soul Star during arrival followed by the main theatre act titled "Via Alex", an epic musical which highlights the rich history of theatre, music, dance and poetry that were ever produced in Alex and made a mark as we celebrate the 20 years of democracy focused in the arts, then later live music performance by Lilly Laburnam, a guest stand-up comedy piece by Mashabela Galane and DJ's on the desks Trinity Mohlamme, Steel, Jozz, Lefa, Chilli Funk and 5 Dimension will close off the night.
On the 6th, Saturday will start off with "Princes in Red & White" (student's production) in the afternoon then followed by the main Saturday mainstream event at with U-Tones welcoming the guest followed by a theatre show "Three perfect couples" a comedy piece that will strengthen the culture of Theatre Night as a night of laughter and a modern theatre style, followed by live music performance entertainment from 4 Tones and Chantel Semenya, and DJ's Trinity, Lefa, Thulani, Dzee & T-Bang, Mtshepana Bigdawg, Chipo, Tlhopzin to shower the night with more thrill.
Sunday morning till late Theatre Night will close off with an additional event as "Alex Fashion Show" which sums up well the theme of celebrating 20 years of all forms arts; the event will take place at Pan Africa Mall followed by an ultimate after party at the same venue.

This is an epic musical piece that will bring back good memories to celebrate the 20 years of democracy in the arts in Alexandra Township "Dark City" "Gamapiane".
The show entails all good prominent work of arts from poetry, music, dance and theatre. It speaks proudly of the great work produced and created in Alex by legendary artists such Caiphus Semenya, Alexandra Brass Band, Jack "Big Voice" Lerole to the various modern tunes of the likes of Flabba in Hip-Hop, Nkease in Kwaito/Afro Pop and Revolution in House Music.

This comic drama exploits the hopes and fears in marriages in a funny and entertaining way, it deals with insecurities and pressure from both partners. Three men as they claim they living in the happily ever after strives to maintain the image of their marriages amongst themselves, but the truth of the matter is that their incidents are funnier than sensitive, and when the truth emerges they all hustles to boost their manhood from the garden to the kitchen and the bedroom. This play is to get you laugh at the hardships of life that you know of and stop worrying for a moment, just laugh! Besides it's good for your health.
