Big Boys II

The hysterical and pulse racing cult comedy sensation Big Boys is back with the second instalment. The saga continues as the boys get themselves deeper into trouble, it seems Ash missed his wedding and again Brad is trying to fix things in his own special way. More booty-shaking music, more wet yourself laughter and more hi-tech interactive audio visuals. Will they dance their way out of this one? Don't miss this epic adventure, for the whole family to enjoy.

In this installment of the Big Boys franchise, Ash finds himself in a predicament when a stripper at his bull party steals his car. (Well, actually it's his father-in-law-to-be's luxury car.) But Brad steps in and devises a plan for the brothers to enter the "So you think you can strictly come winning this dance competition" reality dance competition, win the prize money and buy a new car. Of course it seems ludicrous but Ash goes ahead with this insane plan, which actually works out. But they smash that car, miss the wedding by 16 hours, the bride Vanessa leaves Ash a note saying she needs some space and so begins a rollercoaster adventure where the two brothers embark on a mission to find Vanessa and get the wedding back on track. Their hilarious adventure leads the dancing duo to London - because according to Brad's manslation (translation of Vanessa's letter using his "man code") she's in London. What follows is an insane 60-plus hour trip on cheap flight tickets, a crazy train trip from the airport to their hotel, Brad's theory on why "men are from mars and women are from hell", and a semi-strip show - yes, a strip show, but not that kind, this one is way better as it's loaded with Searle hysterics. Can Ash get back to Vanessa, who's actually in South Africa, before it's too late? Can Brad realise his dream of their dance "going viral". What makes this show an awesome entertainer is its mix of a laugh-a-minute script, a great selection of music, very impressive hip hop and contemporary dance and an exciting lighting and audio display, all weaved together to produce a show where every scene is a treat. The audience at the show I attended was packed out and they applauded and cheered after nearly every scene - it is seriously that good! Expect aching tummy muscles from all the laughing, expect to see some of the most amazing use of computer graphics and lighting displays, expect loads of music hits from Busta Rhymes, PSY, Rod Stewart and even Punjabi MC's Knight Rider Bangra, to which the brothers perform a small bangra stint. Ash, Brad and director Vanessa Harris deserve kudos for putting together a well-rounded, entertaining show for the whole family. Definitely one not to miss.
