An annual street Golf by Thembi School of Excellence a project by Usizo Educational Foundation that aim to utilises golf as a vehicle of social change through which the empowerment of young girls between the ages of eight to ten from impoverished circumstances can be achieved:
Bringing about a socio-economic transformation
The fellowship of various multi cultural communities using golf as unifying element.
Providing tools to achieve social cohesion.
Creating an environment that is conducive to nature these young girls achieve academic and sporting excellence within the context of leadership.
Preparing these young girls to become responsible citizens and ambassadors of the environment within the context of the green heritage of rare bio-diverse ecosystem upon which
The academy is founded.
Activities
1. Flash mob street Golf in various locations of KwaMashu Township especially on the locations that have high rate of poverty,drugs and informal settlements.
2. Car convoy by community leaders, business sector, private sector, ect. In memory, to pay respact and to honour the 67 minutes
3. "Take a swing against poverty, crime, substance abuse, unemployment" Take a Swing for Tata #Take a Swing for Thembi"
