South Africa's mining economy has said to have lost over $988 million since industrial action has been instituted by mining unions since January 2014. The mining sector will soon be heading for their annual wage negotiations in June, however mining sectors have stated that they can ill-afford the demands of the trade unions. Its is of paramount importance that all key stakeholders collaborate and engage in a manner that is fruitful for both parties.
