The Urban Youth Festival

Join us for The Urban Youth Festival a trendy festival geared towards encouraging entrepreneurship and promoting cultural integration of urban youth!

The Urban Youth Festival will allow the youth to have access to information regarding entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship is a major contributing factor to addressing the need for job creation and unemployment in South Africa.

Youth will be aware and exposed to initiatives and opportunities that encourage and support entrepreneurship.
Entrepreneurship together with youth becoming self-sustainable, educated and aware of current issues which are fundamental for their futures, this will positively increase the South African economy and create employment and growth opportunities.

The festival will be taking place over a three day period where you can interact and engage actively with the 8 dedicated festival areas, where each individual element will have guests disseminating information associated with the relevant festival area.

Urban Youth Festival areas

1. Extreme sports
2. Art, literature and drama
3. Fashion
4. Food court
5. Entrepreneurship block
6. Music stage
7. Information technology
8. Main stage and pop-up entertainment

The following will be incorporated into the eight festival areas

Educational workshops

These will be facilitated by industry specialists and successful entrepreneur guest speakers. Hosting a total of 90 industry specific workshops and classes over the festival period, these workshops will educate youth on topics pertaining to challenges in the creative industry and entrepreneurship as a career choice. Additional workshops will continue to be held post the festival through strategic partnership with SA Startup Academy.

Information hubs

These will include corporate, government organisations, tertiary education institutions, companies and factories. This area will expose and present their initiatives, courses, technology, products or services associated with related festival area.

Access and interaction with young and successful entrepreneurs. who have developed and currently run their own product or service companies.

Access and interaction with private and public organisations

These organisations provide support with regards to initiatives within entrepreneurship, skills development and career opportunities.
