The ever growing melting pot choral music festival is spreading its gaint wings to mpumalanga
With its unique approach to choral music Melting Pot Arts Festival has proven to be a worthy winner with choral music lovers, connoisseurs, practitioners and ordinary general audiences. With something for everyone offering Melting Pot Arts Festival has thrilled audiences wherever it goes, after bringing the house down in Durban City Hall with its potpourri of choral music, dance, comedy and guest music acts - Melting Pot Arts Festival is heading to eMalahleni Theatre, formerly known as Witbank Civic Theatre in Mpumalanga on the 01 June 2014.
Started in 2013 as platform to honour O.R. Tambo, Melting Pot Arts Festival has grown by leaps and bounds to a force to be reckoned with and the biggest choral music adventure in South Africa with the biggest choral music winner's prize money in the continent through its Ekurhuleni National Choral Music Choir Competition. It also attracts crème de la crème of choral music to compete.
Distinctive of Melting Pot Arts Festival, 20 top choral music choirs such as EMalahleni Choral Sounds, Nkangala/Gert SAPS Choir, Msukaligwa Choral Sound, Ehlanzeni Choral Singers, East Rand Voice Choir, Vaalbank Chorister and Mpumalanga Choral Artists to name a few will gather to compete the continent will be represented by a number of leading Choirs from Swaziland including Royal Swazi Sun, Mbabane Methodist Church Choir, Manzini Choir and Royal Swaziland Police Choir. As with that potpourri at Melting Pot Arts Festival big name artist Zakes Bantwini, gospel giants Solly Mahlangu, Idols Winner Musa Sukwane and leading Comedian Celeste will add their flavor to the pot with their own performances.
The 2014 calendar will be wrapped at The National Melting Pot Ekurhuleni Choral Music Competition in October at Ekurhuleni on October 18 and 19 at Carnival City, from 09h00 till late.
