f you love supporting local musicians and have grown tired of over-crowded venues where the chattering of patrons is louder than the musical talent on the stage, then head on over to The Alma Café. The compact venue is hidden on a quiet street (Alma Road) in Rosebank and offers a sense of stepping back in time when small corner cafés were the norm.

It's a wonderfully intimate venue where good food, good music and good people reign supreme. Café owner/musician Richard Tait has created a platform for local musicians to play solely for the love of music, and for music lovers to fully appreciate great loclal talent.

One such talent is the gifted singer/songwriter, Jo Folscher, who will be launching his debut EP, Short Stories, at The Alma Café on Wedneday 28 May at 18:30.

Admired by music industry insiders as an exceptional lyricist and musician, Jo is known for creating powerful visceral songs by setting his evocative poetry to stirring soulful melodies.

Folscher (vocals and piano) will be joined on stage by Lara Block (cello). So head down to The Alma Café in Rosebank's Alma Road on 28 May and let Jo's soaring music take you on an unforgettable journey to the shores of your soul.
