Introduction to the principles and elements of graphic design and illustration.
The principles and elements of graphic design and illustration are fundamental and underpin high quality, professional design and artwork. These fundamentals apply regardless of what medium or methodology you use, namely digital or analogue. We will use non-digital methodology which accommodates participants that do not have access to a digital platform or possess these skills. All of these exercises can however be applied digitally. Participants learn how to conceptualise from scratch, without copying and/or creating hybrids of existing ideas and designs taken from the Internet.
Practical projects include understanding and applying typography, creating icons and logos, and designing packaging.
