Japanese excellence on display in the City of Gold.
Top architecture, artistic body painting, fascinating nail art, innovative hair products, the finest in music technology, home appliances, appearances by Hello Kitty as well as Nintendo brothers, Mario and Luigi, for the kids, sportswear, personal computers, outdoor equipment, cameras, film, electronics, the automotive industry and more will be highlighted in a unique event to be held in one of Africa's most prestigious shopping centres.
Japan Week 2014, to be held inside Sandton City, will showcase all of these products and more from 26 - 31 March 2014.
The event is sponsored by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a governmental agency designed to promote trade and investment with Japan.
The event promises to offer something for everyone; the following exhibitors have been confirmed:
Yamaha Music will present pianist Mr Peter Baartmans.
Top architects Kengo Kuma & Associates on display.
Asics, producers of the beloved 2014 Springbok jerseys.
Beauty: Anest Iwata will present live airbrush demonstrations. Cal-Mo will provide nail art displays and demonstrations where visitors can get one nail professionally adorned with nail art. Finally, Kaneka synthetic fibres for hair attachments and partners' products will be on display with a stylist on hand for product demonstrations.
The iconic character, Hello Kitty, will make several appearances at the event.
Auto and marine craft enthusiasts are in for a treat with a myriad of exhibitors: Bridgestone tyres, Mitsubishi Motors, Yokohama tyres, Nissan, Subaru, Suzuki Auto, Suzuki motorcycles and outdoor, Toyota/Lexus, Mazda, and Yamaha motors will also be represented. Honda will display top of the range marine engine, cars, motorcycles, and power equipment.
Pentel and Pilot Pen, first names in stationery, will be on hand with products and display.
Science and techie fans will not want to miss Nikon Laboratory's microscope display.
Immerse yourself in the epic Mario Kart racing franchise with Nintendo.
Also Sony electronics, Toshiba computers and printers, and Hitachi home appliances, and Fujifilm will be on display.
