Cape Argus Pick n Pay Tricycle and Junior Tours

It's time for parents of young aspiring cyclists to diarise the dates for the 2014 Cape Argus Pick n Pay Tricycle and Junior Tour in their calendar.

The Tricycle and Junior Tours promise lots of fun, a medal for every finisher and great activities guaranteed to keep both young and old happily occupied for a fun-filled morning outdoors.

The Tricycle Tour is aimed at youngsters up to the age of six years who, together with a parent or guardian on foot, get to navigate an easy 1,7km fun ride. The event introduces young children to the very basic elements of cycling safety and etiquette in a safe and controlled environment.

The Junior Tour is ideal for learners between the ages of 6 and 12 years, and they are offered the choice between participating in either a 2.5km, 5km, 7.5km or 10km route. To ensure that all riders have an enjoyable and fun experience, entries will once again be limited to a "first-come, first-serve" basis so parents are encouraged to enter their children early to avoid disappointment.

In support of The Cape Town Cycle Tour Trust's on-going safe cycling initiative, all riders must wear cycling helmets and the strict "No Helmet No Ride" rule will apply.

To ease traffic congestion and promote environmentally friendly practices, parents are urged to carpool to the event. Free, secure parking will be available in demarcated areas at the venue.

Online entries for the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Tricycle and Junior Tour open on 21 January 2014. Registration will take place between 28 February and 07 March 2014 at the Canal Walk Shopping Centre.
