One of the most popular works on the concert stage, Carmina Burana is a scenic cantata composed by Carl Orff in 1935 and 1936, based on 24 poems from the medieval collection Carmina Burana. An epic masterpiece, capturing the imagination of music lovers worldwide, the garden setting is perfect for this performance by the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Alex Fokkens. The soaring voices of the Cape Town Symphony Choir and soloists add to the magic of these familiar pieces starting with the hugely popular 'O Fortuna'.
