NPO Leadership and Strategy Programme

This programme is made possible by the generous sponsorship of The Coca-Cola Africa Foundation and in partnership with The Africa-America Institute.

Positioning and leading your organisation in the midst of complex, and often chaotic, community dynamics characterised by on-going change, trauma, divisions and uncertainties is an important priority. Furthermore, your funders want to see return on investment and demonstrations of impact, rather than lists of activities. In order to meet these expectations, you need to galvanise your staff, volunteers and other stakeholders around the sustained and effective implementation of a sound strategy.

Knowing how to do this is a critical leadership challenge. The NPO Leadership and Strategy Programme offered by the Centre for Business in Society at USB Executive Development (USB-ED) is aimed at equipping NPO leaders with the skills to understand and deal with the following:

- the obstacles that may keep you from making progress
- the dynamics of change and the know-how to lead people through it
- how conflict develops and how it can be effectively addressed
- how to keep yourself focused as a leader in the midst of the daily challenges involved in managing an NPO
- how to develop a strategic plan to keep your organisation on course
