Decadent Valentine’s Cuisine at the Townhouse

Trees Restaurant at the Townhouse Hotel has put together a delicious three-course menu for couples wanting to indulge their tastebuds to celebrate the feast of Saint Valentine.

Michelin-trained, executive chef, Stefan Schmidt's menu starts with a glass of bubbly on arrival followed by a choice of two starters. The first is a goats cheese tart served with poached figs, white wine gel, rocket leaves and grapefruit caviar. The second is a spicy watermelon soup served with a smoked ostrich carpaccio, pecorino straw and salsa verde.

The two main course options promise an explosion of flavour. The poultry offering is a duo of duck, confit leg and pan fried breast, caramalised onion-potato puree served with an ensemble of fresh summer vegetables and an aromatic peach compote with thyme jus. Or try the pan fried kingklip topped with herb crust, and crispy shrimp and polenta parcel served with a chickpea ratatouille and lemon butter sauce.

To round off the evening on a sweet and romantic note, the last course is a decadent dessert platter for two. Couples can share a berry macaroon, chocolate truffle and a vanilla brulee served with raspberry jelly and edible flowers.

The Valentine's Day dinner at Trees is R263 per person. Early bookings are encouraged as space is limited. For more information please visit www.townhouse.co.za or call 021 465 4500 to make a booking.
