Kokkedoor pops up in HermanusKokkedoor, the popular, award-winning KykNet television series which brought a fresh new outlook to heritage food, will bring its special blend of nostalgia and inventiveness to Hermanus. Join Chef Nic van Wyk (judge) and Toitnette du Toit (top 3 finalist) at their pop-up-restaurant inspired by memories of beachside holidays and the festive season. A long table experience with a special five course meal will give guests a true taste why the series and the newly released cookbook are such a food phenomenon. "Kokkedoor is about food that is inspired by memories in tastes and flavours that we grew up with", says Nic van Wyk. Guests at the dinners get to experience how these nostalgic flavours get interpreted in a modern way. Nic and Toitnette will also share their memories of holidays in Hermanus, their top tips for the festive season and inspire guests to delve into their own treasure chest of food memories. "Growing up in Pretoria, I have fond memories of seaside holidays and the journey to Hermanus every year." Says Nic van Wyk. The Kokkedoor pop-up-restaurant will take place on 6, 7 and 8 December at the Harbour House Hotel in Hermanus for dinners and Sunday lunch with wine from the Hermanus wine region to compliment the menu.
