Christmas Light Festival

The Carpe Diem - Celebrate your Abilities Christmas Light Festival will take place on 29 November 2013. This spectacular event is one not to be missed...thousands of lights will be lit and not to mention the fireworks! The highlight of the event surely is the performance of Lieze Stassen, back on stage after 10 years of silence!

Lieze Stassen, accomplished singer, song writer, actress and multi-award winning artist left the entertainment arena in 2003. Devastated after the tragic death of her son, Alexander, Lieze swore never to sing or touch a musical instrument again. In 2011 Lieze and her husband moved to a horse farm and it is here that she found solace in the presence of horses. At last she found peace and acceptance in life and death...she could stop mourning. Lieze rediscovered her voice and music and her latest album, My Hart is Jou Gebed, was born. The audience at the Carpe Diem - Celebrate your Abilities Christmas light festival will be in the privileged position to see this performance of a life time, enveloped in Christmas lights.

Members of the public can now buy colourful LED lights in support of the Carpe Diem - Celebrate Your Abilities project. These lights will be used to decorate the pine trees that encircle the school. Each of the lights will be sold at R100 and the aim is to sell 1000 lights before the main event on Friday, 29 November 2013. If you buy lights from Annelise at Van Rensburg Foods you will qualify to win either a whole, half or quarter lamb. When buying a light you will be given a fridge magnet with the message Carpe Diem - Celebrate your Abilities on it. The evening of the main event on 29 November 2013 an entrance fee of R50 will be charged per vehicle. However, if the owner of the vehicle is in possession of a fridge magnet, entrance will be free.
